Today's women know exactly what they are looking for in a man - to marry a man called James who earns at least £25,000 a year by the time they are 25, according to new research.
While women are happy to date as many people as men before they decide to settle down, a new poll reveals that what women really want is a "romantic, hard-working man who is not afraid to commit".
Although more and more women are choosing to tie the knot in their thirties, the survey found that most women think that 25 is the "perfect" age to get married.
Lisa Smosarski, editor of More magazine, which commissioned the survey, said: "The idea that women want an endless string of serial relationships which never end in commitment is way off the mark.
"By the age of 25, what young women really want is a soulmate with a view to marriage."
James emerged as the most popular name for a potential husband, but Daniel, Ben, Matt, Mark, Chris, Jack, David, Josh and John also emerged as favourite choices.
